How Often Can You Visit Your Storage Unit?
You can visit your storage unit as often as you like. Most people come every month or so to check on their items, pick something up, or move more items into storage. If you're storing valuable and fragile belongings or business items, you might want to stop by more frequently. And in the meantime, you can rest easy knowing your belongings are protected by our top-of-the line security features!
How Often Should You Visit Your Storage Unit?
We recommend you visit your storage unit once a month or every other month to make sure nothing has shifted, check for damage, and attend to any items that need regular maintenance. It's also best to check on your storage unit after major weather events. If you have any items that ideally should be in climate-controlled storage but aren't, we advise visiting your storage unit more often to check on temperature and humidity levels and make sure your belongings are okay.
Can I Go to My Storage Unit Anytime?
Access hours vary by location, but most Extra Space Storage facilities have extended access hours from 6am to 10pm. However, some of our facilities allow you to upgrade to 24-hour storage access so you can visit your unit anytime, day or night! If you have a busy schedule, 24-hour storage access allows you to visit whenever is convenient for you—even after regular office and gate hours.
